Opposite the weapons, the new models bring a hole new dimension into the CS we know.
The models uses Valves "animation blending technology" originally created for Team Fortress 2.
Chuck Jones (Valve) is an experienced 3D-artist, who has created these new CS models.
When I entered a CS 1.0 game for the first time I was surprised. The new models are much
more detailed (see the screenshot for comparement), than the models from older Betas, and
they have a totally new way of moving. Many CS players (and I mean MANY) find the new models
a joke, and think they move like a duck which has been involved in a serious traffic accident.
I partly agree...but I think its just a matter of getting used to them, and in the end
I find them more realistic than the old models (plz donīt hate me).
The CS 1.0 models:

There are no new maps in CS 1.0 since N@arby's cs_thunder wasn't included after all.
But a lot of changes and remakes has been made to the existing CS maps. Especially
cs_office is worth mentioning...it has a new set of indoor textures, and a new
"backway".
The main entrance can only be opened from the inside, and some of the
doors are now opened by buttons. Other redone/improved maps are de_cobble, de_vegas
and cs_arabstreets.
Its hard to make a conclusion about CS 1.0. The new weapons seem useless, and are nearly
copies of existing CS weapons. The models are simply a matter of taste....either you like them, or you don't.
Considering this is the first CS version leaving the Beta stages, I can't avoid beeing a little
disappointed. The changes are too regular in my oppinion, but on the other hand I donīt know
what else to expect.
Off course no review without this sentence:
It IS still CS, and it IS still worth the download ;)
